Books & Texts

The United States Armed Services have been diligent in writing their Chaplain histories. Unfortunately, these government documents were printed in limited numbers and are mainly available in governmental depositories in libraries. To address this lack of access, we have digitized and made fully available on the internet many of these histories.

To help put our interviews, bibliography and links in context we have digitized 52 titles, including the majority of official Chaplain Histories issued by the Armed Services, such as "Chaplains with Marines in Vietnam 1962-1971" and 23 chaplain interviews published by the US Navy. A modest addition to these thousands of digital pages was added: historic hymnals; a history of the Chaplains during the American Revolutionary War published in 1861; and two foreign accounts of non-American Chaplains in World War I.
